Microdermabrasion
Microdermabrasion?
Microdermabrasion is a non-invasive skin resurfacing treatment that gently exfoliates the outermost layer of dead skin cells to reveal smoother, brighter, and more youthful-looking skin. It helps with fine lines, acne scars, hyperpigmentation, and uneven skin texture by stimulating collagen production and promoting cell turnover.
How Does Microdermabrasion Work?
Microdermabrasion is performed using a handheld device that exfoliates the skin through one of two methods:
- Crystal Microdermabrasion: A machine sprays tiny crystals (aluminum oxide or sodium bicarbonate) onto the skin. The crystals gently abrade the surface while a vacuum suctions away debris and dead skin cells.
- Diamond-Tip Microdermabrasion: Uses a wand with a diamond-encrusted tip to physically exfoliate the skin. A vacuum removes dead cells while stimulating circulation and collagen production. Suitable for sensitive skin since it offers more controlled exfoliation.
